The first impression is light.

Then you realise you're standing on dark ground.

Imagine cutting a grapefruit at breakfast somewhere very quiet: the sudden spray of bitter citrus oil, sunlight on the table, cool air coming through an open window. Beyond it, the landscape is darker—tree roots, damp earth and black volcanic stone still holding yesterday's heat.

That contrast is Vetyverio.

Vetiver can sometimes smell stern or old-fashioned. Here it feels alive. There is greenness in it, then smoke; something dry and woody, then an unexpected floral softness. The rose doesn't arrive carrying petals. It behaves more like light catching the polished grain of wood.

And slowly, the citrus brightness recedes until what remains feels grounded and tactile: earth under fingernails, dry timber, roots pulled from dark soil.

It's less about smelling of vetiver than discovering how many different things vetiver can smell like.
