Where the bottles come from

We import full-size bottles from authorised distributors and established retailers abroad, and we buy locally where a house already has a South African presence. Nothing arrives here in a bag from someone's cousin.

Every consignment clears customs under our own importer's code, with an invoice from the seller and a customs entry in our name sitting behind it. If you want to know where a particular bottle came from, ask. We'll tell you.

We don't pre-fill. Perfume starts changing the moment it meets air, and a vial poured six weeks ago and left on a shelf isn't the thing you paid for.

So your decant gets made when your order comes in — from the bottle, into a fresh vial, sealed and out the same week. It's slower. It's also the only version worth selling.

A decant is the original perfume, moved into a smaller bottle by us. Not a copy, not a clone, not "inspired by". Same liquid, smaller quantity.

It's also not sold to you by the house. We're not an authorised retailer and we don't pretend to be. What you're buying is a way to find out whether you actually want the bottle, before you spend like you already know.

The Try exists so you can be wrong cheaply. That's not a slogan, it's the reason the smallest size is priced where it is — most of what you'll love, you'll find by being wrong three times first.
