AKRO — Rise
A piña colada, and AKRO are not being coy about it.
Coconut water, pineapple and the cocktail accord itself open it — wet, sweet, unmistakable. Then tiaré and frangipani arrive and turn it floral, which is what keeps it from being a novelty. Toffee sits underneath adding weight.
Ambroxan and sandalwood in the base are the grown-up part. They give it a dry, slightly salty finish so that what starts as a drink ends as a fragrance.
AKRO file it under Summer. In Johannesburg that means most of the year.
